Windsong Charters & Boat Rentals is located north of Tarpon Springs. If you’re interested in renting your own kayaks for more than a day, or renting a kayak to take it elsewhere in Tampa, Windsong is a great choice.
You can rent a kayak for up to 8 hours at Windsong, and paddle around the New Port Richey area, where there is plentiful wildlife such as fish, manatee, dolphins and more. Guided tours are also available.
You can also rent a kayak for 24 hours, and take it elsewhere around Tampa Bay and Clearwater, for the same price as an 8-hour rental.
Paddleboard and kayaks are both available. Single and 2 seater kayaks are available, as are fishing canoes and kayaks.
Canoe Escape
Canoe Escape is located inland, east of Tampa near Thonotosassa. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind river kayak or canoe tour, Canoe Escape is a great choice.
Though they only offer kayaks and canoes – no paddleboards – Canoe Escape offers a number of both guided and unguided downstream tours of the Hillsborough River, through the Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve. You can rent canoes and kayaks by the day, or by the hour.

Sweetwater Kayaks is located on Weedon Island, south of St. Petersburg. This kayak rental company offers a wide variety of kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes. Lessons and instructional courses are also available for rookie paddlers, or children.
From fishing kayaks to single sit-on-top (SOT) kayaks, Sweetwater has a huge selection of specialty sea kayaks. You can cruise around the Weedon Island State Preserve, enjoy the scenery, and observe plenty of wildlife – including dolphins.

Tampa Bay SUP
As you may guess from the name (SUP stands for “Stand Up Paddling”) Tampa BaySUP specializes in paddleboards – but also offers plenty of kayak rentals, as well as water bikes. It’s located south of Tarpon Springs, between Tampa and St. Petersburg.
If you’re interested in paddleboarding but have never tried it before, this is an ideal destination for you. Tampa BaySUP holds regular lessons and training sessions. It usually takes only about an hour for you to master the basics – then you’ll be boarding like a pro! 1 and 2-person kayaks are also available.
Water bikes are also available if you do not want to kayak or paddleboard. If you can ride a bike, you can ride a water bike – it’s easy!
